Hi and welcome to my blog. If it was not already obvious from the name I chose, I am a mum to neurodivergent kids. I have three boys and each of them are a wonderful and different, complex package of unique neurodivergence blends.

It has been a long road of many hard lessons and sleepless nights. Lots of researching, trying and adapting, to find my way. I think that there is no, one right way to parent. Each child needs their own tailored approach. Indeed, every child deserves it. But it is hard. Being a good parent is the hardest job there is.

I like to think that I am doing a good job as a mum. I certainly do my best, try my hardest. I like to research and am creative. Over the years I have tried many different approaches and created multiple posters, charts, schedules, visual timetables, social stories and many more.

I would love to be able to share my experiences and hopefully help you other parents out there, making your life a little easier.

I will be adding more stories from my life with helpful tips to this blog in the future. Make sure to check in regularly and hopefully, you will find the situations you could use help with, written here. If you have a particular difficulty that you would like help with you are welcome to email me at explainingyourbrain@gmail.com and I will try to make a post about it.
